The aim of Stead Lofts Stud is simple:

and consistent bloodlines.

Stead Lofts Pigeons are dedicated to the highest standards of pigeon breeding, backed by over 30 years of experience. We take pride in our commitment to breeding pure and high-quality pigeons.
EXPERIENCE
Both have many years’ experience with breeding poultry, pigeons and show quality canaries and
other cage birds. Michael was a successful flyer at Club and Fed level in his first time with the
pigeons before he was forced to give them up. Austin has experienced success in partnership with
his mate Tony at the highest level. Highlights are Best Gloster Canary and 5 th Best Bird overall at the
National Exhibition from a total of just over 10,000 birds. Two wins at the International Gloster
Breeders Association show and a win at The Scottish National show are among the other successes.
A renowned judge across the world including the USA National, he has recently been coaxed out of
retirement to judge Norwich canaries and British Finches and Softbills at the 2025 Scottish National.
With the years of experience in various livestock at the highest level Stead Lofts will continue to
strive for improvement. You could say it’s “just in the blood”
Even if our own racing is, through circumstances, basically limited to One Loft races we want to provide genuine racing heritage for anyone buying from Stead Lofts, whether that be kits for racing or birds to put to stock.
Stock birds from Leiderman, Van den Bulk, Panis, Pierre Beyl, Cuester, Lambrechts and many more from famous racing dynasties have found their way to Stead Lofts resulting in birds from lines such as GOED GRIJS, BLIZZARD KING KITTEL, SUPERSONIC BLIZZARD, MAN O’CHESTER, WITTE DIRK, RED ALERT, SNOWBALL, BLACK WIDOW and many others all being represented in the breeding loft.
Feedback on racing performances are always welcome and it is gratifying to see success stories for pigeons that have come from Stead lofts.
With our buyers returning year on year for kits is just one example that convinces us we are doing something right as our aim is always complete customer satisfaction and any pigeon that leaves the loft has to be in top condition or any minor issue (and we do mean minor) fully discussed beforehand.
